TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

The training and development specialist is responsible for enhancing the productivity of the organization’s associates. This position involves assessing developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifying suitable training solutions for team members. The specialist actively seeks out, creatively designs, and implements effective methods to educate associates, improve performance, and recognize their achievements.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts monthly training as defined by the training matrix.
  • Proposes training and development programs and objectives.
  • Develops and monitors spending against the departmental budget.
  • Obtains and/or develops effective training materials utilizing various media.
  • Trains and coaches managers, supervisors, and others involved in employee development efforts.
  • Provides continuous improvements in existing courses.
  • Plans, organizes, facilitates, and orders supplies for employee development and training events.
  • Develops and maintains organizational communications to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.
  • Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results.
  • Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
  • Works effectively as a team member with other members of management and the HR Staff.
  • Use computer skills to design and develop training based on needs analysis.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, communications, education, or related discipline.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in designing, implementing, and facilitating learning and development programs within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across all levels in the company.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, multi-tasking, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to multitask on projects in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications – Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
