Design / R&D Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Primarily focus on New Model development of prototype weld fixtures, using 3D software
  • Support installation and quality inspections of New Model fixturing on weld lines
  • Research and development of unique solutions for existing efficiency and quality mass production issues
  • Evaluate new technology, attend trade shows, supplier conferences, and training
  • Help evaluate current mass production systems and offer advice for new technology

Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant on-the-job work experience
  • Strong background in solid 3D design, preferably CATIA, for the design of prototype fixturing
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (primarily Excel, Power Point, and Project Management)
  • Design of Experiments (DOE)
  • Can multi-task as well as possess analytical skills
  • Should be a self-motivated individual
  • Have critical thinking and excellent communication skills
  • Basic mechanical aptitude (use of hand tools, shop equipment, etc.)
  • Flexible with hours and willing to travel
