Weiss Lake
The Crappie Capital of the World.
More out-of-state fishing licenses are sold at this lake than at any other lake in the State of Alabama. Renowned for producing 2-pound+ crappie consistently,Weiss Lake offers 447 miles of shoreline, shallow flats, underwater drop offs, deep channels, and large covers. The lower part of the lake provides some trophy bass.

Lake Eufaula
45,180 acres on the Chattahoochee River. Located in southeastern Alabama, east of Eufala, the lake sprawls along Alabama's border, with Georgia. Favorite catches: crappie & largemouth bass.

Guntersville Lake
Alabama's largest reservoir, it covers 69,100 acres with 962 miles of shoreline. Located in northeastern Alabama on the Tennessee River between Guntersville and Scottsboro. Favorite catches: bass, crappie and bluegill.

The Mobile Delta
A network of rivers, creeks, bayous, lakes and marshes which empty into Mobile Bay. The third largest brackish water estuary in the United States, it offers great freshwater and saltwater fishing all year. Located around Mobile, the access areas can be found along the causeway linking the east and west side of Mobile Bay. Favorite catches: largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, redear sunfish, channel & blue catfish, striped bass and pickerel.

Neely Henry Lake
11,235 acres with 339 miles of shoreline. Located just south of Gadsden off Hwy. 77 on the Coosa River. Favorite catches: bass, channel catfish and bream.

Hiking/Camping Information:

Oak Mountain State Park
A 9,940-acre state park in central Alabama, 15 mi. S. of Birmingham at Pelham. The park offers 13 trails, totalling 31.5 miles. The Treetop Nature Trail is a very short (760 ft.), but interesting interpretive trail on an elevated boardwalk along six enclosures for rehabilitated birds of prey which cannot be released. Pinhoti Trail System
About 100 miles of hiking trails through Cheaha Wilderness and Talladega National Forest in northeastern Alabama. The south end is about 8 mi. S. of Cheaha State Park and the north end is at Dugger Mountain, 16 mi. N. of Heflin. The trail roughly parallels the Talladega Scenic Drive (Hwy. 49) and Forest Route 500. Located at the southern end of the Appalachian Mountains, the trail goes by Cheaha Mountain, the highest point in the state at 2,407 feet, and along the edges of rocky bluffs and through forested coves.
